Our second blog brings you
the lady behind...
Faysie Boo Studio
Who is Faysie Boo /Faye Sanderson…what is your story?
Faye is a freelance graphic designer based In Horley, Surrey. She has been making cards & prints as gifts for friends and family for years. In 2013 She finally decided to take the leap and start selling at Craft Fairs and online. 'It was one of the best decisions I ever made' Says Faye
Faye has always loved being creative, as a child she was always drawing and painting. This grew into an interest in Art & Textiles at school and later a design degree at University. 'I always joke I’m happiest with a pencil in my hand'
Faye is inspired by many talented women on Instagram. She finds it really
inspiring to see them succeeding with their small creative businesses. In particular, Jane Foster’s unique design style and Emily Quinton’s photography skills. I love the quote ‘When women support each other, incredible things happen’
How did you come to have a stall with us at The Crafter’s Market?
Faye saw the Crafter’s Market was being set up on Facebook and that we were looking for stallholders. We are really pleased she saw an opportunity to join our lovely local crafty community. 'I’m so glad I did! I’ve made some lovely friends and its great to have people to talk ‘shop’ with.'
So...what does the future hold for Faysie Boo Studio?
Like many of us crafters, Faye would love to have a little studio at the end of the garden and to be able to work full time on Faysie Boo Studio. Quite rightly so she is really proud of how her little creative business and how it is growing and she really hopes it continues to blossom. Faye is full of so many great ideas and new items she wants to add to her range- so keep an eye on her page. We love her beautiful pieces.
What is your favourite thing about having being a Stallholder at The Crafter’s Market? 'It’s such a friendly atmosphere so I always enjoy the Crafter’s Market days. I love doing a bit of shopping from the other stallholders as it’s a great place to buy handmade presents for others and treats for me' says Faye.
And lastly... we asked Faye...
What tip would you have to any budding crafters?
'Go for it! Have fun and experiment. I love learning new crafts in my free time and think its good for the soul. I recently attended a needle felting workshop – now that craft is seriously good for stress relief!'
